John Dante, President and CEO of Dante Actuarial Consulting, has over 25 years experience working for some of the country's largest health insurers, such as Blue Cross, Guardian Life and MetLife. He has earned designations from three actuarial organizations. John is also a licensed Producer in Pennsylvania for Accident & Health and Life & Annuities. He is active in philanthropy and public speaking, and has achieved the Advanced Communicator Bronze and Competent Leader designations from Toastmasters International. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Economics and Applied Math/Statistics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
John's experience includes management and business development in employee benefits with a concentration in medical and prescription drugs, designing/pricing of health plans, health care reform/rating legislation and underwriting. Some of John's accomplishments are:
- Approval for more than 90% of requested rate filing increases
- Manual rate and renewal pricing for $1 billion block of Group Medical Insurance that achieved profit annually for 7 straight years
- Improved state risk sharing mechanism saving insurer over $5 million
- Saved a Union almost $1 million through RFPs for their medical and prescription drug coverages
